Our Tree, 2015

Our Tree 2015
I know Christmas has come and gone. Our tree is quickly losing its needles, and we need to throw it out. But I wanted to document our tree here on Simple Days. Sometimes looking back at my blog is the best way for me to remember little moments from years past.

Our Tree 2015
This was an evolving tree. It started out pretty bare-boned because we only had a few non-breakable ornaments on hand (with a toddler helping to decorate the tree, I decided to opt for shatter resistant ornaments).

We kept adding new things as December went on: paper snowflakes, ornaments that the kids decorated themselves...

Felt ornaments...

Cinnamon ornaments (these smell so good), a new batch of red ornaments from Target, etc.

Most of my wrapping paper came from IKEA this year. It had a Scandinavian vibe.

And of course I had to take a Christmas light bokeh shot.

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas, and that the new year brings you much joy and blessings.

How did you decorate your Christmas tree this year?

  1. Our tree is very simple and unique. We decorate with cinnamon ornaments, crocheted snowflakes, paper-quilled snowflakes, plus some really old ornaments that have been handed down. I don't like finding glitter all over our house :)

  2. It's very pretty :) Our tree is still up, too. Although, it's a fake one. We just haven't had the time to take it down. We don't usually keep it up until Three Kings Day, but I guess we will this year!

  3. Beautiful tree! Hope you had a great Christmas and new year!
I'm trying to find more glittery, golden ornaments every year to go with our red glass baubles but I'm so picky with what I put up in my tree, I mean Our tree eehhh and find it difficult to find the right, warm tinted glittery gold without a hint of green in it ( or maybe I just need to get a life..) :) However, as we experienced this year, unbreakable baubles are a must, unfortunately Siri, our one year old daughter, smashed one last week and put the glass pieces in her mouth and cut herself, we had to rush off to the emergency room but thankfully she was ok but the fear put a dent in my heart!
On a lighter note, yes, it's definitely a Scandinavian vibe about your tree and gifts, and I'm speaking from experience here ;)

    1. Oh no! Glad your daughter is OK! And I can totally understand about needing to find the right kind of ornaments. This time of year is a great time to get Christmas things on huge discount...or to get nice Christmas decorations at thrift stores or consignment shops. Hope you find what you're looking for!
