Jim's New Highchair
First of all, yes, those are a gob of peaches on my counter. I scored an awesome deal on organic peaches at Walmart and froze a bunch of them.
I have been wanting a highchair of our own for years now. My sister kindly let us borrow hers for Helen, but I like to have my own equipment versus borrowing.
I've had my eye on a wooden highchair for quite some time. I saved searches on ebay and Craigslist for Stokke Tripp Trapp and Keekaroo high chairs. I kept waiting for the perfect deal.
I finally gave up and decided I would just have my sister pick up an IKEA highchair for us when they were in the cities. The day they headed out on their trip, a listing for a Keekaroo high chair came up on Craigslist. It was $50 - the best deal I'd ever seen! They retail for around $200.
I quickly called Reuben to get his opinion and then called my sister to see if she would be willing to pick it up for us.
It was all a go and I was so excited!
So far I'm really liking the highchair. The Stokke Tripp Trapp would have been my first choice, but I really couldn't beat the price of this Keekaroo. The tray is a bit hard to slide in and out (you have to use two hands), but overall it seems nicely made.
And I figured I'd include a photo of Helen since Jim is getting so much attention on this blog these days. She loves her smoothies.
BTW, these are my favorite bottles/sippy cups (they are completely plastic free!) and I love my stainless steel smoothie straws (you can find them on Amazon).
Have you ever gotten a really good deal on something that's normally pretty expensive?
