Here in northern Minnesota, spring is temperamental. Some days the sun warms you enough to make you dream of summer and going to the beach. Some days are so dreary and windy that you wonder if winter is really gone.
This was back in February. Granted, it wasn't technically spring yet. But it was so warm that I took the kids outside without hats, with the snow still piled on the ground.
Little cousin Charlotte enjoying the sun.
I bought some strawberries - they made me happy even though they weren't quite in season yet.
From a few weeks ago: Sitting in the Ranger, watching the maple syrup making proceedings.
Helen "helped" tap out.
James just LOVES being outside.
Helen does too - with just a few toys and some dirt, she's happy for a long time.
My green onions are poking through the dirt!
Perhaps a bit premature, but I put the kids in their swimsuits for optimal sun exposure. :)
So far spring is still very very brown here. I can't wait for the buds to pop out and the flowering trees to show their majesty. I'll have to do another post when they do, because it just doesn't feel like real spring yet.
What's spring like where you live? Do you have a period of brown before things green up?
